Nest thermostat connected with two wires

Hi all,

I just picked up a Nest Thermostat to be able to control the temperature remotely and lock the thermostat. My setup has a black and a white wires only. From all videos I've seen, noone seemed to have the N260 code (c wire). Did I do something wrong or do I in fact need the c-wire?

The Nest Thermostat (2020) requires a "C" wire. If you want one that can work without the C wire, you need to get a Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E.

If you want to use the Nest Thermostat (2020) you could pick up the Nest Power Adapter ( https://store.google.com/product/nest_power_connector ) for it or, like i did, run an additional wire for C from the thermostat to your furnace's C connection (If it has one). In my case, I ran it to the transformer that powers my zone control valves and recirculating pump as my thermostat controls one of those valves not the boiler directly.
