Nest thermostat not firing the boiler (Manual mode seems to work)

One year old Nest installation. Today the house started losing heat. Thermostat showed steadily dropping temps. Boiler remained stubbornly off, no matter what temp was set.

Searched on here and found the option to turn on manually from the Heatlink, which seems to be working. But I have no idea what to do next to resolve the issue.

Please explain carefully; I’m neither a nest nor a central heating expert. Thanks for any help.

Having the Heat Link on manual mode is fine to overide everything to get heat on, but be aware there is NO thermostat control now. The heat will keep rising, so just be aware to turn the Heat Link off when you feel to hot.

Regarding the dropping temperature, are you saying the display is dropping degrees?

I would do a restart also with the display. Press the display against the wall, and keep pressed until you see the house, then release. See if that helps.

One other thing, this may not be a Nest issue, it could be a motorised valve stuck. You say you are not into this stuff, best idea would be a plumber to have a look.

Further investigation with the boiler manufacturer and The guy who installed our nest system, suggest that it is a 3-port valve which is malfunctioning. Will try to get further diagnosis tomorrow.

Sounds about right.
