Nest thermostat not reaching cooling temp

My Google Nest is not reaching the set cooling temperature. The temperature reaches 70°F and the AC turns off. A technician came and checked everything system-related and said everything looked okay. I guess the Nest is the problem. What can I do?

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry that your Nest thermostat is not reaching the cooling temperature, but no need to worry; help is here.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • When did cooling last work?
  • What type of system do you have? (Heat pump or conventional type)
  • Did you recently experience a brownout or blackout?
  • Are all the wires on your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat and/or app?
  • When did the issue first occur?

Keep me in the loop, and I can assist you with next steps.

Regards,

Gabriela
