We have an AC unit for cold and a gas furnace for heat, hooked up to a Honeywell thermostat. I tried putting these 5 wires in respective slots on Nest thermostat (Y, G, C, W, R), but the nest did not seem to fire up the furnace. It was blowing cold air instead of hot when the mode was set to heat. What would be the correct Nest thermostat wiring for this system? Thanks.

Hi Edward,
I ended up installing a Honeywell smart thermostat and it seemed to work as intended with default wires.
