Nest thermostat

My gas is shut off to the house to repair the gas meter outside. Do I need to turn off the nest thermostat?

It's nice to see you reaching out here in the Google Nest Community Forum!

If the maintenance would affect your HVAC system, it would be best to turn it off directly from your breaker box for safety. Also, your Nest Thermostat would stay on after turning off the power because of its battery, but it'll eventually turn off once disconnected from power.
