I changed thermastats yesterday to the Google nest 3rd gen. After boot up the ac runs constantly. Even after reaching temp. If I take the thermastat off the wall the ac shuts off, or if I reset the thermastat it won't run the ac till next time it should then doesn't shut off. https://imgur.com/a/IOvT2TI https://imgur.com/a/lrVIEu9 https://imgur.com/a/P7m6SZe https://imgur.com/a/xVMwbJA https://imgur.com/a/WTnbz12

Hi, @Busted287

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that having your AC running constantly is frustrating. I'm happy to help you find a solution.

Before troubleshooting, please confirm that the wires on your Nest Learning thermostat are connected as follows:

  • Yellow wire in Y1
  • Green wire in G
  • Black wire in C
  • Orange wire in O/B
  • White wire in W2
  • Baby blue wire in the Star connector (*)
  • Red wire in Rc

If the wiring is correct, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the breaker for your HVAC system and remove the display from the base plate.
  2. Disconnect the Y1 wire from the base plate, cover the copper part with electrical tape, and insert it into the wall.
  3. Turn on the breakers.
  4. Reattach the display.

Please let me know if the AC is still running.

Best regards,

Ana
