New user who can not work with Nest thermostat

Hi, I've recently moved into a new house with a Nest thermostat that was already set up. I'm looking to understand how to operate it. I've installed both the Nest and Home Apps and followed the instructions in both apps to connect to the thermostat. However, I've encountered an issue. When I attempt to add the existing device to the Home App and select Nest, it asks for my Nest username and password. The Nest App logged in through my Gmail without requiring a password, so I don't have a password for my Nest app. Could you please assist me with this situation I'm facing?
