Next app: Home/away assist (again)

Here's my problem. I use Home/Away assist on my Nest Learning Thermostat because I work irregular hours. When I leave the house, things work fine: the app records that I'm away and switches the thermostat to Eco. But often when I return home, although the app registers that I'm home, it does not switch the thermostat back to normal levels: it remains stuck on Eco. What I have to do is to manually stop Eco on the app.

This is really annoying. Any thoughts on how to fix it? (FWIW, I already think that the Home/away assist feature is pretty crappy when compared to the geofencing facility on the Honeywell Lyric I used before: with the Lyric you can change the radius of the geofencing feature; you can't with the Nest. Hmmm)

Anyway, all ideas for how to effect a solution are gratefully received.

hey I have a nest 3 under warranty the UK office refuses too send a replacement. My home / away never worked never registers a movement even when people are inside. I decided to go to court and have it replaced as the support now tells me it works fine and all these are features.

I also have the problem of nest staying in eco mode despite it recognising I have got home.  I left it several hours one day and it never came out of eco mode despite being during a scheduled heating on period.  Have tried with and without movement sensor set but no change.  This has only started happening recently so like most others I think Google introduced some bad code with last update.

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and ensure you are good to go. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,

Hey beautiful words and desire to have the thermostats working as promised.
a few months later and google is not able to fix this. So what’s the fix for having the thermostats going into eco mode by using the sensor ?

Of course the problem still exists as Google have so far refused to accept that the problem is theirs to fix.  I always get told how its my phone or my settings but the fact is nothing changed at my end but the problem started at back end of last year when google introduced a change to their Home/Nest set up.  There are dozens of people describing the same problems they are having at this post.  The Google intelligent thermostat is no longer intelligent and cannot be relied upon.  We may as well have bought a cheap manual thermostat - I think many people are now starting to do just that rather then pay a fortune for a broken device such as Google NLT.  We need Google to act now to fix their software and stop asking us to endlessly send them the same screen shots and timing and settings that have been sent many many time already.
