Hi, I have just moved into a house which has a nest 3rd gen thermostat which was reset to factory settings when the previous owner moved out. They were able to control hot water however since the reset we are not able to see any hot water icon or options. The manual override on the heatlink does work to produce hot water. We have a combi boiler but previous forum posts on this issue suggest changing the setting to system boiler. Given that we have a combi boiler not a system boiler, will this change in setting cause any issues?
We know our boiler works and is compatible with hot water control as the previous owners were able to, we are just puzzled that we have no option to control or enable hot water control.
Any advice is much appreciated

Hi, @amyyclarky!
Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I understand the importance of having reliable hot water for your heating system. I'm sorry to hear that the Hot Water menu is not displaying on your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen). I'm here to help.
As the thermostat was reset to default settings by the previous owner, and the Hot Water menu is now missing, it's probable that the thermostat is not correctly configured for your combi boiler. To check this, please follow the steps below:
If the option is off, please turn it on and confirm if the Hot Water icon appears, allowing you to control your hot water.
Don’t hesitate to reply if you have any questions.
Best regards
Ana
