Not sure about Nest Thermostat wiring

Hi,

Can someone confirm I wired this thing correctly? It does not appear to work right. This is for a heat pump.

Hi Jozef,

Thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest community. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you. It looks like it was wired correctly, but if it’s not working properly, you might need to check the heat pump settings on the Nest thermostat. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your thermostat.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings .
  4. Select Thermostat.
  5. Scroll until you find Heat pump. It should show which wire configuration is currently selected.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. To make sure the issue is resolved, test your heating and cooling again.

Note: Make sure all wires are properly seated on the Nest Thermostat base. You’ll see the copper wire in the hole of each terminal, and the button stays pushed.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Best,

Renz
