Old 2 wire 24v heat exchanger furnace

Hi I currently have a old 2 wire furnace. 24v just curious if the 2 wires are enough, or is there a way to add the c wire to the gas valve. I added a pic. I assume I attach the thermo wires to r and w. I measured the thermo wires and they have 24v.

Thanks for the help

Hi Badow24,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Are you located in North America or Europe? And could you send us a wiring photo of your current thermostat so I can take a closer look on it? On the other hand, you may use our Compatibility Checker to determine if a Nest Thermostat is compatible with your heating and cooling system.

Keep us posted. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe

Hi thank you for the reply. My current thermostat just had 2 wires one to RC and other to w. I figured out how to rewire the gas valve. Works good. Just remove the jumper in the middle.

Hi there,

Awesome! I'm glad that everything has been sorted out, and I appreciate your sharing the steps you took to install your thermostat wires to the terminals of W/W1 and R/RC/RH on the Nest Thermostat base, removing the jumper wire. Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat

If you have questions or concerns in the future, feel free to start a new thread, and we'll be happy to help.

Regards,

Zoe
