I'm in a Philly row house. Only one thermostat on ground floor, mix of radiators and baseboards on ground floor and second floor. One heating pump / no zone valves. So one zone, with no visibility into how heating loops are piped. Currently when ground floor thermostat temp is satisfied, upstairs overheats (heating season.) Someone told me I can use a Nest with multiple sensors to balance upstairs / downstairs more effectively, but it seems to me whenever the heating pump is on, heat will go everywhere regardless. Are there some settings in Nest that somehow enable it to better close the gap between upstairs and downstairs temperatures?

Hi TupeloHoney,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that you want one Nest thermostat to control upstairs/downstairs as a hydronic system. I'm happy to help you!
To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Rusell.

Hi Russell,
I haven't bought one yet. I am thinking I need one with sensors, and I don't necessarily need a "learning" capability. Thanks for responding!

Hi TupeloHoney,
Thank you for your response. As you want to purchase a Nest Thermostat therefore to help us get a better picture of compatibility do you mind sharing a photo of the wiring of your current thermostat?
keep me posted.
Best regards,
Rusell.
