Orange blinking light nest

My nest stopped charging after 1 year. I had an electrician come an look at it b/c the wires came out. He put them back in and now my furnace won’t start. My nest is blinking orange and says it’s 21 degrees but it’s about 17. I want to make sure it’s not a nest problem before I get a furnace tech in. Wi fi is connected and everything else looks good

I think the electrician messed up Nest wiring terminals, if just a loose wire Nest should work after fixed. If you can pull Thermostat out while nothing running, check these wire (make sure they cannot pull out from terminals) connect to :

- Red to Rh

- White to W1

- Yellow to Y1

- Green to G

- Blue ( if you see it , not important ) to C

Also go to Main breaker panel check for Furnace breaker is ON, If you have a switch at Furnace it self, make sure it is ON.

Hello folks,

I'm chiming in to see how I can help.

Thanks for the input, @Land1.

@MarLisa, I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your Nest Thermostat. The fact that your thermostat is blinking orange and showing a temperature discrepancy is indeed concerning.

Firstly, ensure that your Nest Thermostat has sufficient power. If it's not charging, it might be worth checking the power source and the wiring again. Make sure the wires are securely connected and that there are no loose connections. You might want to try restarting the thermostat by turning it off and on again.

If the issue persists, gather the power readings in the Technical Info settings or in the Equipment settings, depending on the Nest Thermostat version you have.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
