 Please, I have no idea if this is wired correctly and everything I can find tells you to look at your old thermostat. We have had it working all winter however the upstairs always seemed to run and would never get to temp.  We would occasionally get an email that said we used auxiliary heat 40% or whatever, if the time.  Something is not right and we are dying of heat.  Had the ac on for two hours and it’s barely budging.

Your system appears to be wired wrong. You don't have a wire in the Y terminal which is what turns on the cooling.

I need to see how the original thermostat was wired and if you don't have a picture of it, then take one of the terminal block on the control board in the furnace/air handler.

Thanks, I do not have a photo of the original set up but I will check the control board.

In the photo there is an unused yellow wire just hanging out there. That is most likely the AC wire for the Y slot on the Nest. Check your control board by the furnace to see if that yellow wire is connected to the Y terminal. if it is then just plug in the yellow wire into the Nest "Y" and the AC should come right on.
