Painting wall where Nest Thermostat installed

After patching wall where i installed Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen), I took off the display unit to paint the wall. I left the base unit on and put painters tape around it. A bit of paint got through the tape onto the black rim on the base unit. I was able to scrape and wipe off most of it.

Does anyone know where the sensors are on the base unit and whether a little paint on the rim would affect the sensors?

Thanks in advance.

Hi esquire1113,

Thanks for posting.

Make sure that you do not paint on the displays of your devices. A little paint on the templates or bases of your Nest Temperature Sensors will not affect the performance of your devices.

Best,

Mel
