Possible to delay blower fan?

MartyBrown
Community Member

Just had a new heat pump installed. Now, when the heat comes on, the system pushes out cold air for a minute or so - colder and longer than my old gas furnace did.

Is there a way to program the system to delay turning on the blower fan for a minute or so?

@MartyBrown , when you have a heat pump, the blower fan must be turned on and this is just a drawback of a heat pump design system. Your old gas furnace would delay the blower to turn on until the heat exchanger got up to 200°. The compressor needs blower to be on in order to properly start stabilizing the refrigerant flow and heat mode.
