Question concerning C wire

ThebigD

I have connected my nest thermostat and all is working well.  It was suggested that I connect a C wire to insure smooth operation.  My wire color coding is correct at both the furnace and the thermostat.  I have a four wire system but no connection for a C wire.  When testing with a VOM, my red wire tests as a C wire.  At the furnace connection, no wire is connected to the C terminal.  Am I good to go?  I performed the C wire test with the meter both at the thermostat and at the furnace.  Red shows up as C!

If you're not experiencing any power or battery drain issues, then you're most likely good to go.

Thanks for the feedback.  For peace of mind I went ahead and connected a C wire.  All still working fine.
