Hi There,

need help.  Please find my old thermostat picture.  I am planning to replace old with Google Nest but, when I am setting up got a message that it is not compatible with the current wiring because existing has jumper between R and Rc.  Want to know whether I should be able to use new Nest thermostat or not..?

Your response is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Santosh.

With a traditional furnace/AC system, the jumper is not needed with the Nest thermostat.  My old thermostat also had a jumper. Made no difference when installing the Nest.  Just connect your red wire to the R terminal in the Nest.
