I've got a Thermostat E and I'm using the iOS app on iPhone. Thermostat E is set up in the living room with the heat link above the boiler in the utility room. There are separate (non-Nest) thermostats which control underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is a large room which has become cold in the winter so we have recently set this to be on, although the bathroom stays off most of the time.
The Nest Thermostat is set to 20 degrees (celsius) but the room temperature is actually at 24.5 and is staying at that temperature. The heat link in the utility is reading 27.
If I set the thermostat to Eco or manual modes, nothing happens and the boiler continues to heat at 24.5. If I turn the thermostat to manual AND the heatsink to manual then the boiler goes off and stops heating. The thermostat and heat link are linked together over the network.
I've restarted the thermostat and it produced an error "your thermostat cannot control this equipment properly" which quickly disappeared before I could click on it for more details (if it gives any). I can't find that exact error online. I thought it may just be something that could pop up if it's not connected to the network during start up?...
Either way, it is back on, set to 20 degrees but still causing the boiler to fire and the temp to stay at 24.5.
I'm fairly sure that there is an issue between the kitchen thermostat and the Nest but I'm not sure how to remedy it. Any advice would be appreciated.
