@Dnittel

Getting a new phone should have nothing to do with your thermostats accessing Wi-Fi; they should still be connected to Wi-Fi. And if you log into the Google Nest app and to the Google Home app on your new phone with the same credentials you used on your old phone, you should see your thermostats.

I agree however they will not reconnect

the connect for a second then disconnect

Hi folks,

@MplsCustomer, thanks for the help!

@Dnittel, thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • Can you still control your Nest Thermostat stand alone?
  • Are you logged in to your Google Home app with the same email address that you used on your previous phone?
  • What message are you getting when you try to connect them?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Dnittel,

Thanks for the update. Could you check if your Nest Thermostat is still connected to an account? You can find this by going to Settigs > Technical Info > Account.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Dnittel,

Thanks for the response. You can find this info on the settings of your Nest Thermostat itself.

Thanks,

Edward

Hey Dnittel,

I am glad to hear they are both reconnected. If you are getting a power message on your device, there is a chance you may need to have a C wire or Nest Power Connector installed to your system if you do not already have either of those. This will ensure the device is always getting power.

Best regards,

Jake
