Rename ‘Hot Water’

Hello, I have 22 nest learning thermostats all working just fine and dandy in a house on the heating control side. I do however have a problem with the ‘Hot water’ side and renaming. 2 of the thermostats in different locations in the house are controlling towel rails and a secondary hot water circulating  pump. My customer has an Android phone. So when she opens her app all the stats are listed and at the very bottom are the 3 ‘Hot water’ controls. She doesn’t know which is controlling which. I need to rename. Now on my iPhone my own home has 6 nest thermostats and the hot water side is shown next to the stat controlling hot water, but not the case on an android. I do hope there is a work around for this. Have a nice day….

And remember what Roy Batty said - “ I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe……….”

Hey @Bladerunner,

Thank you for reaching out! As I understand from your description, the issue might be caused by the customer's use of the Google Home app instead of the Nest app. The Google Home app shows the products differently on Android, but the Nest app is exactly the same. So I would recommend that your customer tries downloading and using the Nest app instead. Let me know if that fixes it or if the issue is persistent on the Nest app as well.

Hi there @Bladerunner, I want to know how everything is going at the moment? Did the steps provide by my colleague help? Let me know if there's something else I can help you with.

Do you know if it’s possible to contact Nest to suggest that an option to change the description ’Hot water’ would be a benefit?

From what we've checked and from what we know, it's not possible to change the name/label for the hot water in the Nest app. That's a great idea though. You could leave your feedback about it by accessing the following link: https://bit.ly/3ratw86
