Resetting Nest Thermometer

Wils42

Hi,

We’ve recently moved into a house with a nest Thermometer which is connected to someone else’s  Nest App.

I cannot track down the person who has it connected to the app so,

How do I reset the Thermometer so I can set it up on the app on my iPhone?

Thanks

I assume you mean thermostat?

Full Reset is the way to go, but you will have to set the thermostat up again. easy to do just follow the screen instructions.

From the display............. settings, reset, full reset.

That will remove the previous owner, and reset to factory.

Hello everyone,

I'm chiming in to make sure everything is covered here.

Thanks for the help here, Frustratedddd.

@Wils42, it sounds like you've encountered a bit of a technological hiccup with your Nest Thermostat. There are steps you can take to reset the thermostat and set it up on your own app.

Here's what you can do:

  1. Perform an Account Connection reset on your thermostat itself. You can find this in the Reset settings. This will allow you to remove the thermostat from the previous account owner and disconnect from the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Reconnect the thermostat manually to the network and generate a new code, or choose the QR code in the Nest App option.
  3. Make sure that the Nest app is ready with the email address you'll be using. Proceed with adding the thermostat to the app.
  4. Remember to exercise caution and ensure you have the necessary permissions or access to perform any actions on the device or the app.

Let us know if you need more help.

Best regards,
