My heating doesn’t stick to my schedule. When I review my history I can see that the heating is on at night to a higher temp than is on my schedule. My husband has had to manually turn it down at night.
why is this happening?

Hi Sarah888bell,
Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted out.
A few questions: what Nest Thermostat do you have? Check this link to know what thermostat you have. Since when has this been happening? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
Best,
Mel

Hi, I set my thermos to away and whenever I looked at nest app while I was away it appeared to be off, however the history looks like it was on. And we arrived home to a warm (20 deg) house which was not what I had set it at.

Hello Sarah888bell,
Thanks for letting me know about this. A few more questions: Have you configured an Eco or Scheduled Temperature? Does anyone in your family have access to your thermostat and can adjust the temperature? Lastly, are you enrolled in an energy-saving program with your utility company?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

this is what occurred when I was away. I had away set to on.

One of the other issues was that it was set to come on at 6 but we noticed it was on at 4 however I now believe that this was it preheating so that at 6 it was the correct temp

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot and for letting me know about your observation.
If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Early-On feature is enabled, Your thermostat will start to heat or cool your home before the scheduled time, using what it has learned about your home to predict how long it will take to reach the target temperature. At this time, please keep observing it and keep us posted if you encounter any unusual behavior.
Regards,
Mark
