Stolen Nest Thermostat

• Someone stole our Nest Thermostat at my place of business. My app shows that the Nest is online, but that’s it. The controls are no longer on the app. The thief must have done a factory reset on the thermostat. I so wish I still had control of the thermostat. Anyone know of a way to reconnect after a factory reset? @members

I am not sure that is possible. When the device has factory reset its not paired with your current setup anymore.
There is a process for stolen cameras and doorbells so maybe worth a shot to contact Google Support about your situation. To see if they can help you out on this matter.  🙂

Since you will probably never get it back just do "remove the device" from your app account.

Maybe Nest can identify who is using it with the serial number and give info to the police to find them.

Most utility companies have good discounts on smart thermostats. In NJ the NJNG gas company has the Nest for $1 and the Learning Nest for $99 and the electric company JCPL first energy has similar deals.
