I have a Nest Thermostat 3.6 and Sunblock is not working. My thermostat gets direct sunlight for about a hour each morning and it gets in excess of 80 degrees each morning with this sunlight. There are no other power sources in the area so no its not picking up heat from any other source, its the sun. I have followed all the comments in posts I have found on here about toggling it off an on, letting it sit to learn, and nothing seems to work. One thing I have noticed is the "leaf" icon is always on and I have never seen the "sun" icon on the device. Not sure what to do next other than see if I can find some kind of cover to protect it from the sun.

Hi mitchodell,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
I'd like to check if you've tried the steps here and turn on Sunblock and still no icon showing. Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Best regards,
Ryan

Didn’t work. Still see leaf on the main screen.

Hey mitchodell,
Thanks for the reply.
The Nest Leaf icon appears on your thermostat (and in the Home app or Nest app) to tell you when your thermostat is set to an energy-saving temperature. The Leaf encourages you to choose energy-saving temperatures that are a little lower or higher than what you’ve set in the past.
If changing the temperature lower or higher doesn't remove the leaf icon, we could try the complete data reset on your Nest Thermostat to keep everything aligned and updated.
Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Ryan

I tried what you said. The leaf isn’t on the main screen. When I wake it up it just shows the temp setting. When I press it again I see the menu system and the leaf it at the top center. Mode | Eco | Fan. Eco is showing that it’s turned off.

Hi mitchodell,
Thanks for the reply and for doing the the recommended steps.
The last thing we could try is to perform a complete data reset on your Nest Thermostat. Once done, check it the icon still shows on the display.
Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Ryan

Hey there mitchodell,
That's strange that your Sunblock setting was not working as intended, but I'm glad to hear that you were able to find a work-around. In that case, did you have any other questions we can address?
Best regards,
Jeran
