System compatibility

Your compatibility test said it was compatible, but when installing it says my system is not compatible.

1. jumper -Rh to Rc,

2. pink wire -Rh,

3. white wire -W,

4. green wire -G,

5. yellow wire -Y.

Will the cheap Nest E work with this?

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Thermostat E and should be wired to the Nest Thermostat E's base as shown:

Disregard the jumper wire as it is not needed for Nest Thermostat E. Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Thermostat E.

First, I have the Google Nest Thermostat, not the E.  From what I've read they are the same.

I followed your instructions, but now get a error message E294.  What is the cause/solution? Thanks.

Zoe, I went back through the setup and realized that I did not select the "R" during the Nest setup as one of the inputs.  When this correction was made, it worked perfectly.   Thanks for your help.
