Temperature 2° higher

MrDeliK
Community Member

Hi my nest learning thermostat is showing current temperature approximatively 2° more than the real temperature.
I have some other sensors and they all show me a temperature 2° below what the nest is showing.

I tried to reinitialize the thermostat but no luck.

Hi @MrDeliK

I have read somewhere it is the internal WiFi that is causing some heating issues.
Do you have the possibility to change from WiFi, from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz for example? 🙂

Hi @MrDeliK

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting... do you have some other devices up close to the Nest which can interfere somehow?

H folks,

I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

@RXShorty, thanks for the assistance.

I appreciate the followup. @aatienza and @EmersonB.

@MrDeliK, thanks for letting us know. Have you tried restarting your Nest thermostat? It would help to refresh and to re-calibrate the temperature. Also, how are the readouts after moving it? Were there any changes?

Looking forward for your response.

Best regards,
Mark

I restarted it and refreshed it

No changes 😕

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back, and I'm sorry to hear that the issue still persists. Let's sort this out.

Please double-check the following information:

  1. Go to Settings > Technical Info >Power.
  2. Get the values of the following:
    • VIN
    • VUSB
  3. If you have a room thermometer, Take a photo of the thermometer next to the Nest thermostat. Both the thermometer and thermostat screens should be visible in the photo and show the difference in each other’s readouts.
  4. Enable Sunblock in the Nest Sense settings.

I'll look for your response.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi
sorry for the late answer.

Yes, at least it's a part of the problem. Now i turn arround 1, 1.5° more than the other sensors.

I guess i can say it's "acceptable" knowing that the Nest Learning Thermostat round number to a precision of 0.5.

I didn't said it before because i thought it didn't matter but the thermostat is on the Nest stand and not on the wall.
