Hi,
I set my thermostat to stop at 66, but keeps running and is now at 78. When I get and shut it off my system keeps running.

I'm having same issue. Hope we find help. I have to manually set it to OFF, then reset thermostat to get heater to turn off.

Still having issues. Heat won't turn off when getting to temp. I have to manually turn off thermostat, go to settings & reset thermostat. During the "re-boot" of the thermostat, the heater will go off.

Hey there,
I wanted to follow up. Are you able to send a picture of your current wire set up for us to review? Once the target temperature is reached, have you tried removing the Nest thermostat from the base? Does your system still run once removed? Please let me know, so we can troubleshoot further.
Best regards,
Jake

Yes, If I remove the thermostat from the base, the heater turns off.
