Thermostat Compatibility Question

jerm35
Community Member

I have a Daikin DT4242 and it has the wires connected: G, R, C, Y1, W1, W2, W3

It is a Furnace and Heat Pump install with zones.  Can I install a nest thermostat?

I don't see a spot to post a photo...

and the manual terminal diagram:

The wires are connected to W3/AUX, W2, W1, Y1, G, R, C

And it looks like the W2 is also the OB?

Just curious if I can use the NEST and which ports I would plug in to...

Current  to Nest
C to C
R to Rh
G to G
Y1 to Y1

It is the W on current that I'm not sure of:
W1/OB to OB
W2 to ?
W3/AUX to ?

Any help appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi jerm35,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. In some systems, the wire in the W3 connector controls your third stage of heat. This wire might also control your emergency heat. If you’re not sure what type of heating you have, contact a local professional. For more information, visit the following links:

Let us know if that helps.

Best,
