Thermostat Gen 4 no heat pump operation / setting

My system is AC with heat pump; the outdoor condenser comes on for AC, and then for heat the condenser is supposed to come on and as far as I understand it just spin the fan the other direction to deliver heat.

The AC (cooling) is working fine on both stages I and II.

When I do a heat test, the fan in the attic runs, so air is blowing through the vents, but the condenser never comes on to actually heat the air. I am not sure if this is a wiring issue or a software issue. I found something online for the older thermostats where I should be able to switch a B and O wire, but a) I don't have the BO wire connected with my setup, and b) none of the menu items suggested in what I found exist.

On the Home app the system details say:
Heat source: Electric

Heat source 2: Electric

Heat type: Forced air

Heat type 2: Forced air

I can't find the term "Heat Pump" in any of my settings either in the app or in the menus of the thermostat itself.  Do I need to do a factory reset and start again?  Any insights here would be appreciated.  Cheers!

Your understanding of how a heat pump works is not correct.

Heat pumps have a reversing valve that makes the freon in the system run in the opposite direction. The fan never changes direction.

If you don't have an O or B wire, then you don't have a heat pump.

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring?

I did figure it out thank you!

My old thermostat had a wire at W-O/B. The O/B part was on a second line so I originally put it at W1. Fixed!

Thanks for your help!
