I have owned a Model 1.4 (Canada-Mirror Front) Thermostat for less than a year. It has always been Irritatingly inconsistent with our WIFI service connection. It always goes "Offline"! Somehow the WIFI connection gets "broken" although no other device in our household has ever had that problem ! The unit itself always reports the WIFI connection is "Strong" when accessed at the unit's reporting screen but "Offline" on the Google Home App and the Thermostat's display ! It always reports "connected" to my Internet WIFI system. I have new batteries installed and reported as "Good" I have a 24 Volt AC Power supply to it on the 'C" connection. I have a WIFI Extender POD right next to the unit to ensure a strong connection. I have come to the conclusion that this unit by Google is NOT designed properly to operated with an IOS system. I have tested the same unit with my Android device with the same results!! Bad Engineering and should never have been released into the public service area!
