I would like a lock mode with a limited temperature range, where the Thermostat display does not change into the pincode entry for unlocking when the limits are reached. I would like to prevent other people in setting the temperature too high or low, but not confuse them with the unlock pincode display. Unlocking should only be possible by pressing the thermostat and showing an 'unlock' mode in the menu. Other menu items like settings or scheme should be unaccessible. Weather or history should be accessible by configurable setting.
Can the Nest firmware be changed for that?

Hey there,
Since it's been since this thread was last updated, we'll be locking it if we won't hear back from you again within a day. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one should you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

Hi Melba,
when is an update expected?

This is a pretty straightforward ask. I've wanted this for years (and had Nest Thermostat since 2013.). I manage vacation rentals and I don't want to make people use a PIN code or manage their temperature for them, I just want to say, they're never allowed to turn the temperature before 70 degrees for air conditioning or above 80 degrees for heat. That is much more useful then locking them out of using it with a PIN code, which ultimately just drives complaints or phone calls.
