Thermostat delayed

Why does my thermostat say delayed? I have it set lower than the inside temp & the a/c is not coming on. The thermostat says delayed. How to stop the delay?!

How long has it been happening? Were there any recent changes or any repairs being made to your HVAC unit? Also, could you share a photo of your wiring configuration and we'd love to have a better look.
