Thermostat exits eco mode on its own

We have several model 3.4 units.  We manually put them in eco mode when we are leaving for extended periods of time (days to weeks at a time).  We have both learning and home/away assist disabled.  For some reasons, for no apparent reason the thermostats will exit eco mode on their own.  Is there a bug fix or work around for this or do I need to junk them and buy another brand as it is very important to me that our smart thermostats work properly for us ?

Hi Hayesmonster,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is set to eco mode on its own. Are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest thermostat do you have?

  1. Make sure that the thermostat is up-to-date in your thermostat's Settings > Software.
  2. Make sure that the Eco temperature is disabled. Follow Learn about Eco Temperatures and how to change settings for instructions.
  3. If the same thing persists, perform a reset on the thermostat and reconfigure it from scratch. This can help eliminate any software glitches or configuration errors that may be causing the unexpected behavior.

Let us know if that works.

Best,

Zoe
