Thermostat fresh air ventilation on New House

I have a Honeywell WiFi enabled Thermostat. All cables seems compatible but the red who connects the fresh air Intake. Talked to the installers and they say they don't install Nest nor they know if is compatible at all through the (*) symbol. Basically is a Red cable coming back with power to Furnace (this is what they told me).

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with more details on compatibility. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Unfortunately this article didn’t help. I can send pictures or even do a video call. I really want to replace with Nest, just need help. Installer can’t figure it out.

Hey there,

Thank you so much for the picture. Just to double-check, is the wire connected to U slot the wire you were talking about that provides power?

Best regards,

Jake

Hey there,

Thank you so much for confirming that for me. Taking a look at the details provided, I don't have much information on the U wire on my end. I would recommend having a HVAC pro come out, and take a closer look. They would be able to ensure everything is set up properly.

Best regards,

Jake

I got the original installer to come and told me what it was for. That’s why I asked here for compatibility.

Yes the cable in U. Sorry for the delay

I have the same issue. the U on Honeywell allows you to set the damper for fresh air into you home. Nest * only allows for humidifiers.... Jake, does nest have any plans on fixing this issue with fresh air intake? If not i'm going to have to ditch the Nest and buy Honeywell

Exactly and due to lack of track here, I am passed the return date in BestBuy…

In my brand new house build, they forgot to install the fresh air dampener, so I constantly have fresh air being pulled in, they are coming to install it.  So I'm curious if Nest has addressed the dampener controls yet?  or am I going to have to replace my nest device for the honeywell

Greg, I had no luck getting a good response from Nest on this. I have asked 5 different HVAC companies here in Louisville and no one can answer the question nor charge me for a successful install. I am past the return date at BestBuy so $200 wasted…
