The thermostat was installed today. The heat is turned on but the temperature keeps dropping. Auxiliary heat has come on but the temperature goes down instead of increasing. Is it because of the low temperatures?
My HVAC is new & was replaced in August of 2024

It is possible that low outdoor temperatures are impacting the efficiency of our heating system, especially if it is a heat pump. However, the temperature dropping even with auxiliary heat suggests there may be an issue with the thermostat settings, the system itself, or airflow. Also, if you are using a room air cooler nearby, it could be counteracting the heat by cooling the air at the same time. You might want to check that the cooler is turned off while heating or adjust its settings to avoid this conflict.
