Thermostat wiring

I am trying to install a nest learning thermostat. There are three wires that were connected to my prior thermostat, a red, a white and a light blue wire. Am unsure where to plug them into the new thermostat? Please advise.

What type of system do you have? Also, could you provide a clear photo of your original thermostat's wiring showing the labels of the terminals so I could check on it?
