Thermostats not working

Jmdileo

Hi,

so I have two learning thermostats, one upstairs one downstairs and they have worked perfectly for over a year. Last week I add a nest sensor to the downstairs bedroom and it caused the upstairs heat to stay on even when the upstairs thermostat indicated it was at the set temperature and not on. I removed the sensor and deleted from system and reset both thermostats to factory settings as well as reinstalled on my app. Still the upstairs heating is on when it should not be. Hope someone can help.

Hello Jmdileo,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with the Nest Learning Thermostats. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected behavior of the upstairs heating system, even after removing the sensor and performing a comprehensive reset on both thermostats. Your detailed description of the issue will help us address and resolve the matter more effectively.

Here are a few additional steps you might want to consider:

  • Ensure that the Nest Temperature Sensor in the downstairs bedroom is placed appropriately and away from any heat sources or direct sunlight. Obstructions or interference might cause erratic behavior.
  • Review your heating zones and thermostat settings to ensure they are configured correctly. Sometimes, a slight misconfiguration can lead to unexpected outcomes.
  • Relocate the Nest Temperature Sensor to a different area of the house to isolate the issue if the temperature changes affect the thermostat.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
