Time-of-use support can (should) be better than forcing a manual schedule

I just want to put in a plug for better support for time-of-use rates, which are becoming increasingly important for saving money and reducing emissions. Currently the best option is to manually set a schedule (and so opt out of the "learning"). That also means opting out of "early on", since otherwise you can't know what schedule to set. This means that, in order to take advantage of time-of-use rates with a Nest, you end up having to opt out of most of the reason for using a smart thermostat like Nest in the first place, because you have to set everything manually and disable the "intelligence".

I truly hope that Nest will do better.

Hi Jake. I think your recently announced Google Shift, part of Google Nest Renew, is the answer.
