Thermostat: Here is some feedback after several years of experience.
The 'stat software and settings have too many options. It seems like the software engineers got carried away with all the possibilities. Some consumer testing and input along with application of the KISS principle would be appreciated.
-Maybe an option or two of 'typical' default settings v. all the ala carte options?
-How about better explanations of how the options interact? Does Eco override the schedule settings?
-How about a simple command setting which overrides all the others? Dear Nest, regardless of whatever else is set, make the temperature 66F until I make a change.
-The sharing of data and access with my local utility is cool, pun intended, for controlling AC use but there's been no feedback to know if it made any difference in energy use or costs. My utility has not responded to this query.
Thanks for listening.
