Unable to Log in to control Nest Thermostat- New Phone-New Phone Number

Back in November I posted this same question.  Looking for help again since last solution was not a possible solution and the issue was closed.

I have a Nest thermostat.  I also now have a new phone with a new phone number.  I cannot get the Nest app on new phone to control thermostat because I cannot get logged into the account.  I have tried logging in through Nest and Google since I cannot recall if I had merged them.  I cannot remember the Nest password.  My Google account has been updated to new phone number.  When I try to select forgot pw in Nest app, it insists on sending the verification code to the old phone number. Brick wall.  The solution below does not help since step 1 starts with being able to log into the Nest app.

There must be a way to either recover a log in, or reset the thermostat and start over again with new log in information.

Hey Pooday64,

Sorry to hear about what you've been through but thanks for reaching out again to the Google Nest Community.

I'm afraid that if you don't have access to the old phone number where the verification code is being sent to, there's no way to recover the Nest account anymore. However the good news is, you can reset the account connection settings of your Nest thermostat to disassociate it from the account it is connected to now. Once done, you now have the ability to set it up on another Gmail account. Check this out for the step by step guide: https://bit.ly/3riP5Dp

Hope this helps.
