We purchased two Nest thermostats for our 2 family home. Got no power message, and after 2 hvac repair visits and $600 discovered the Nest was blowing fuse I. Furnace. Repairman replaced defective nest with cheap digital thermostat exactly like one we replaced 4 years ago and furnace is working. So $600 plus cost of Nest and 4 years later we are back to what we had at the beginning. Same setup/furnace system in second unit so wondering if that nest was defective or if second nest will die soon. Called customer service and after 3 hours on phone was told that they would review case and possible make warranty exception if I sent hvac invoices. Emailed invoices and when called back was told it is out of warranty and there 2 reps refused to review the submitted invoices. Although I am upset about thermostat dying within 4 years and causing problems in furnace, I am even more upset I was advised to obtain/submit hvac invoices for possible warranty exception only to be told there would be no review process . Totally disappointed in the product and in Google customer service.
