Upgrading To Google Nest 3rd Gen

I’m wanting to upgrade my Google Next Thermo 1.4 to a Google Nest 3rd generation.

am I able to pull off the old Thermo and replace it with the new 3rd gen thermo, or do I have to go through and. rewire?

If you are changing the type of thermostat (the generation or model) then yes you will need to remove the base plate as well as the thermostat, rewire, and setup from scratch.
