Vacation home thermostat won't connect to nest app

I'm at vacation home on its wifi.

Installed thermostat. It works 

Trying to add to nest app and can't.  All permissions granted.

Sorry to hear about your Nest thermostat as well as for the delayed response. I want to check on this further. 

A few questions — are you getting a specific message or a code on your Nest app when trying to add your thermostat to it? If yes, what is it? Also, what is the exact make and model of your phone? If you could also provide a rundown of all the steps that you've tried, it would be a huge help.
