Why E80 in 96° outside temp. AC turns on and runs but Y connection is not getting power.

Nest 3rd generation learning thermostat. E80 no power to Y wire. This happened once when installed and the circuit breaker was tripped. 96°F outside. AC is on and producing cold but E80 error persists. It ran for a month so before this incident. Please help.

Running into an error on your device is never ideal, sorry this is the case. Let's jump in and ensure the issue is resolved. I did find a helpful article that provides troubleshooting steps for when running into the E80 error. Please let me know if that helps, or if the issue is still persisting after following the article.

Check the water pan, drain could be clogged causing your water sensor to trip shutting your system down.  That's what happened to mine.  Please remember to turn off all power to the unit before touching it.
