Why does boiler cut in

We have set the schedule for our thermostat. At night it is set for 9 degrees. At 5am it comes on at 20 degrees which is really annoying and wakes me up, let alone a waste of energy and money!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. A few questions: what type of Nest thermostat do you have? When did the issue start? What kind of HVAC system do you have (Heat pump, conventional system, etc.)? Do you notice any intervals or specific patterns between these strange behaviors? When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system? Also, what country are you located in?

Yes we are still having problem with heating coming on at random times.
