Will Google Nest work with my old thermostat installation?

Hi, I am planning to replace my old Thermostat with a brand new Google Nest, I've been reading some posts about how to check compatibility with my wiring but can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Disclaimer - I have no knowledge of OpenTherm.  However, I found some documentation that may help answer the question.

Are you outside of the US? If so make sure you get the appropriate thermostat for the country you are in.

Hopefully someone here will have more information and practical experience about your system!
