Winter Safety Temperature Cap of 45F Too Low

For those of us who live in areas prone to cold snaps in the winter, the max safety temperature setting of 45 F seems far too low.

Yes, water obviously does not freeze at standard pressure until the temperature is below 32 F, but 55 F is often recommended as a winter minimum thermostat temperature to provide margin as pipes are often run in spaces that may not be warmed as well as the rest of the home. Having pipes freeze and burst during the winter is a nightmare scenario for any homeowner...

Please allow users to set the heating safety temperature to at least 55 F. Thanks for your consideration.
