Wire connected by receives N253 error

Hi everyone,

Can anyone give me some advice on the correct wiring of my system? I have a very old boiler. I am using google nest in heat-only mode. Below is the connection diagram of my boiler.

The terminals on the Zettler control board do not follow the convention of "W for heating, Y for cooling", etc. Instead, it appears that Y terminal is used for controlling the boiler, and R is 24v power. There is a C terminal on the board on the control board. But it controls the gas valve and I am not sure if it is the C terminal the thermostat requires. I connected my Nest E in the following way:
Nest - Boiler
R - R
W - Y
C - C

Nest was able to control the boiler, but the battery drains fast. When the boiler was not heating, the Nest cannot detect W1 and shows error code N253. In power info, Vin shows as 35V. It seems that Nest E cannot get power from the wires.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to provide power to Nest E so that I dont have to replace battery every month or so?

Thank you very much.

Hi archiscript,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community.

The error message you're getting is an indication that there's something we need to check on the wire. You could check this guide and help you further resolving this issue.

Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.
