I have an electric boiler and also a AC unit. my old thermostat was wired up with a wire in Y, W, Rc and Rh - with a jumper between Rc and Rh. I wired the Nest the same way - minus the jumper. The thermostat dies every 2-3 days and then i need to pop it off the wall and charge it via usb cable. I went to add a Cwire but opened up my unit to realize there is not a control board in it... guess its just that old?? So then i went online and found a 24V transformer that you plug into the wall. it says online to remove your current Rh wire and run this transformer to the C and Rh on thermostat. I did that and now get a C-wire low power error and thermostat stays stuck on that screen unless I go and wire it back the way I had it. Anyone know what I can do to get this thing to charge on the wall and not have to plug a usb into it every 2-3 days?

Hi ctlyon1986,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
The Nest Thermostat could work with the power from the Rc or Rh but there are times that it needs to have a C (common) wire connected to have a constant power. We recommend using the Nest Power Connector if you don't have a C wire available from your HVAC unit.

Ryan

I know they suggested the nest power connector but I don’t know what to connect that to on my particular setup
